Just to clarify a few things. There are quite a lot of incorrect posts on this thread...
1. This is a soft
limiter, which will be mandated on all new EU vehicles built from 2022 onwards.
2. The soft limiter will "bong" at you, if you break the speed limit.
3. You can override
that soft limiter, by pushing hard on the gas-pedal. You can still do 150mph in a 70mph zone (on a private road).
4. Big EU trucks already have semi-hard
limiters in 2019, stopping them going above 56mph. This is law, today. Right now.
5. Some speculate this will be followed by the introduction of hard
limiters circa 2032. It will eliminate speeding and fun.
