Qiantu K50 super-EV electric sportscar is going to be made in my hometown!

The Asian EV Invasion is coming to my town!
Wow the first affordable ($100-125k) fully electric supercar going to be made near our airport. And they say it might even bring thousands of jobs here and keep some of our top engineers from leaving town.
Maybe I will own one of these someday!
4300lbs....maybe not! And thatís even with the carbon fiber tub. And the styling is ok but nowhere near Italian.
But over 230 miles per charge. Maybe the DD grocery getter? The gearheadís Prius!

I didnít notice that logo. Itís kind of different with an Asian flair. I guess the dragonfly is a pretty bad ass animal in reality.
Iím also excited about the fact that there might be thousands of hungry rich Asians here. I own Asian restaurants LOL!

So, did California annex Washington?
What happened to Oregon???

Aren't you impressed with my US geography knowledge, LOL?

Sounds super cool to have all that move into your town. Lots of technologies merge for something like this, and it is likely that most will take root within 100 miles or so.
We have Diamond Aircraft where I live, and that's attracted carbon fibre industries for things like wind turbine blades.
And General Dynamics Land Systems makes and refits light armoured vehicles here, which has resulted in a few high-tech defence contractors springing up.
All in a city of less than 400,000 people.
What I'm getting at is the company, if successful, is great for the community but the spin-offs can be even greater.

Gonna see ever more of this, as China takes over from America and Europe and runs the world in the 2020s / 2030s.

China's electric car industry is already the biggest in the world today. Selling about half the world's electric cars. Only a matter of time before they start flogging more of their excess capacity abroad.

I just realize this is going to help our local race track also. The plant will be within a few miles of the racetrack. Yeah!
Maybe that 50-year-old wavy bumpy asphalt might be replaced!?
Electric cars need really smooth pavement or they burst into flames, Right? LOL

I have been doing some digging, and most sites are consistent with the following information...

"Power comes from a duo of electric motors, one for each axle. This layout ensures all-wheel drive capability with multiple driving modes. The creators say the combined peak output of the system “can be as high as 280 kW (375 hp), with a torque of 580 Nm (428 lb-ft),” which provides a 0 to 62 miles per hour (0-100 kilometers per hour) acceleration in just 4.6 seconds. Top speed is electronically governed at 124 mph (200 kph)."

I'm not sure if I would call it a "supercar", and more expensive than a current model Tesla.

Yeah that was kind of disappointing power figures along with the high weight. Maybe itís the Bricklin SV-1 of super cars LOL.

But if it costs $100k and you put $100k in electric power increase and lightweight mods then you might have a budget hyper car model.

Iím going to brush up on my Chinese and ask to be a test driver. LOL

Good point. If this new car manufacturer gets as big as they say then there might be some good spin offs.
I just want our track to stay open. Itís owned by the county but at leased to a dragstrip racer guy whoís tired of losing money and whoís lease is up this year. And thereís people complaining about how itís a drag on public resources. Yeah right like all our public golf courses are even close to profitable!
