How upset should I be?

My car arrived and seemed to be in perfect shape, then I found these. Not large but annoying now that I know. They're on either side of the brake light. I'm guessing from brake light install at the factory.

You should not be upset, because life is too short. You should get it fixed, because it will only worsen as moisture gets under and the paint continues to flake.

I doubt very much it would leave the factory like that. I would be asking the dealer a few questions and get it checked by a paint expert.

If the rear light was pulled out for some reason it might have chipped the paint. Maybe it became faulty after the fact and was replaced quickly

If it's still under warranty, take it to the dealer. That should be covered by Alfa under the 4 yr plan. I wouldn't be super upset, but you should make them aware of the flaw/error/damage.

Thanks everyone. I ordered it from out of state, sight unseen. Not ideal I know, but it is what it is. I'm going to send them a quick note. It is new so it is under warranty, but once you start messing with paint stuff, it often ends up worse. The dealer has been a little....unimpressive. oh well. Still LOVE the car.

I wonder if someone at some stage tried to fit some carbon taillight surrounds? Still, no point in speculating, you’ve just got to have it fixed. Hope it’ll be fixed under warranty. If not, once it’s done, you’ll soon forget about it. Onwards and upwards as they say.

I put down a 1k deposit on my car before even seeing it, it was a bit of a gamble but it paid off, glad I'm not the only one who bought before viewing etc. In fact I never even test drove, just turned up and drove off. people think I'm a bit daft doing that but I had been let down on another car and didn't want disappointment again. My car is lovely and only 2k miles when I got it

I'm sure you will be sorted out, these 4Cs are mostly nursed and treasured cars, especially low mileage ones. Good luck
