The 8.8Ē is a wide ratio format that seems to fit the best in the 4C dash, not blocking the vents. The 6.2Ē is about the same height, but it isnít as wide as the base unit, so I was concerned with finding a good way to trim that out. The have a couple generations of base unit and then sell each with each different screen size. They will even sell you a screen by itself with a software patch to change screens and keep your base unit. The only down side to the wide ration sizes are that they donít have dedicated buttons in the bezel, so you either have to use an external controller or mess with the on-screen menu options to adjust volume.

That 6.2" might just be the perfect size for our car. If anybody decides to go that route, please post some pics. The dedicated volume buttons are a huge plus IMO.

Someone has done it. Pics in either this thread or the other big-ish Joying one.

Made deal to buy 4C Spider tonight, but was already debating Halo 9 if I got the car. Take plenty of pics of it installed and please write a good review about how it works. Figured Alpine would be a fairly easy install given the Alpine Premium Sound option, but who really knows for sure?

There are some pics of the Halo 9 in a 4C here in another thread. It’s definitely a nicer unit, but the screen being a standard 4:3 proportion means it blocks the vents. We need a smaller/wider option from them. Both are plug and play in the 4C, which may be the easiest ever car to install a radio in as you can reach everything from the passenger’s foot well if needed.

Has anyone figured out a way to use the standard mic? Or where did you run the new mic to and how did you get it there?
