Alpine Premium Sound w/Subwoofer

Does anybody know the actual specs for the Alpine Premium Sound w/Subwoofer option? How many watts/channel, does it have the PnP Alpine Amp already or is the only power via the head unit. Also, what are model numbers for the actual speakers?

Going to be installing the optional SiriusXM antenna soon, just curious to know what the optional system actually contains. Debating adding the complementary in-line Alpine Amp, but was not sure if that was already part of the Alpine Premium Sound package or not.

I have the sub in mine and I believe it has the in-line amp as part of the system. I changed head unit with no impact to bass which implies an external amp to me. Rememere I'm just some schmuck that feels the audio in this car is adequate due to the engine noise. My other cars are much quieter and thus the audio quality is much more important.

The crux of my question really has more to do with the amplification. I know there is an available external Alpine Amp (plug and play) being sold on the Crutchfield website. It has one connector in and one connector out, so I debated just grabbing one, but was not sure whether the Alpine head unit is currently driving the entire system -OR- if there was already an external amp installed.

As I installed the SiriusXM antenna tonight, I noticed something that looked like an amplifier behind the passenger’s side dashboard, but unfortunately it had no branding on it, so could not say for sure. It’s just odd the it was a different shape than the aftermarket Alpine amp. Can anybody confirm whether there is an external amp installed on the car. Thanks!

I would like to know this too. It's strange that you can't adjust the sub volume but the head unit has sub volume. In my opinion the sub amp shuold be plugged into the sub out ont the head unit.

When connecting the SiriusXM Satellite Antenna (PnP) to the back of the Alpine, I noticed what looks like an amplifier under the dash above the passenger’s footwell, but behind the pocket to hold the USB Cable and Line-in Cable. Did not see any branding on it, but it did look like the wiring harness came from the back of the radio. Could be a mono amplifier for the Sub. Unfortunately, it’s such a PITA to climb into the passenger’s footwell upside down on your back. Still have nightmares from last time.

Iím pretty positive that there is an external amplifier under the dash on the passengerís side for the cars with the upgraded Alpine Premium Sound package. I had bought the Alpine Power Pack amp, but it does not seem necessary, so it goes back to Crutchfield tomorrow. Does anybody know what the wattage is for the Alpine Premium System?

The manual states there is a 25 amp fuse for the alpine amplifier. That would put it in the range of 250-300 watts. Alpine sells mono amps rated 250 watts; my guess is that's the one.

Power Output 18W RMS X 4*

*Primary amplifier ratings per CEA-2006 Standard
- Power output: measured at 4 ohms and < 1% THD+N
- S/N 80 dBA (reference: 1 W into 4 ohms)

Maybe that means something to someone. No other pertinent specs in the manual.

The head unit is the only power (according to the manual).

I have the XM add-on. Listen to it every day. Fairly easy to install. While back/under there I looked at all the outputs on the Alpine system and thought about adding a 'within the dash' sub as some have done. Wish I could tell you more. Now I am considering a Joying android unit.
