Our downpipe is designed for "offload use" Though since it doesn't throw a CEL and can pass emissions, technically it would be legal? Most police officers won't give you a hard time unless you give them a reason to!

Here's what I want - some way of my 4C sounding like this at the track and a way to tone it down to something less heart attack inducing on the street for those pushing a walker across an intersection. Maybe a big lever in the trunk that reroutes the flow through a resonator or something
That is what I like to hear!

We will most likely not be doing a valved exhaust, in my experience those almost always end in exhaust leaks, with our exhaust it should be a good middle ground between sound and drivability. Though with our modular system changing the sound can be as easy as disconnecting the rear V band and exhaust hangers and putting a different piece in! Not quit as easy as a big lever, but pretty close!

If the Corsa exhaust will bolt up to the stock downpipe it most certainly will!

The catless won't be a big deal unless they have sniffer tests where you live, our downpipe will not throw a CEL, and paired with our tune, emissions won't be an issue anyways! With our exhaust the sound will be significantly lower and cleaner. This will make daily driving much more manageable. We will be sure to get some videos of that once it is finished!

Yes, we have a sniffer test here every two years. If the car fails the smog test, you can't work on it yourself or take it to your regular mechanic. You must take it a state approved special smog mechanic, the list is rather short. Been there, done that. This means I'd have to install a CAT and possibly other supporting items every two years. That's a bit of a compromise. What kind of performance gains are we expecting?

I believe they were right around the 20whp mark, will need to confirm on the numbers though. We are considering doing a cat set up in the exhaust, having a couple different options as the resonators we are going to be using are roughly the same size as the high flow cats that we use. That would make passing a sniffer test no issue. Understandable on that though that is a significant amount of time put into something every 2 years. California has some crazy strict laws regarding emissions. Up here if the vehicle is newer than a 2009 emissions are no longer required, and if it is registered in a more "rural" county then emissions are not required no matter the year, so there are ways to get around it here LOL

I guess I have to deal with the check engine light?

Negative, no check engine light, we are hoping to have the cost figured out and have the product available for purchase at some point today or tomorrow!
