how long was just the panel removal?
I would say an hour or so for the quarter panel removal. Even though it is only 20 bolts and nuts for the actual quarter panel and 4 bolts and 4 screws for the wheel well liner, the time spent is figuring out what bolts and nuts to remove.
Luckily you only need a 10mm socket for the quarter panel nuts and bolts. It is recommended that you have various length of socket wrench extensions AND it is helpful if you have a racheting 10mm box wrench to get to those tight spaces.
The wheel well liner is allen/Torx bit and Phillips screwdriver.
The stock IC brackets have 13mm bolts.
When you remove all the nuts and bolts that fasten the quarter panel to the door jam, the lower rocker, the aluminum frame and the rear bumper cover, you wanna lift the door jam side of the quarter panel outwards first and then pull the quarter panel towards the front of the car. The rear edge of the quarter panel sits on 6 guide screws and tabs that abut the rear bumper cover.
again, there are 3 "L" brackets under the rear of the quarter panel that provide vertical support of the panel. the vertical position of the L bracket is bolted at the factory and help with panel alignment with the boot lid and rear bumper cover. If you loosen the vertical bolt on the L brackets, you will have to then take tedious time and great effort to tighten each of the 3 L brackets at the *right* heights for panel alignment. Trust me, this was absolutely no fun! Only remove the bolts on the horizontal plane of the L brackets, NOT the ones on the vertical plane.
