What did you do with your 4C today?

Did you drive it? How far and to where?
Did you wash and wax it?
Did (GOD forbid) park it in the garage and ignore it?
Did you do service work or some modification?

Me? What I did to my 4C today was to be active on this forum and live vicariously through others while dreams of the day (year?) I can order my 4C filled my head and clouded my vision.

The weather has been bizarre here lately: beautiful ☀ in the morning and ⛈ in the afternoon. Blame the Azores anticyclone stationed near 🇬🇧Goldmax! So says the meteorologist🥸
So this morning I hurried to take the 4C and who am I meeting you? My friend Alfista and “Vespista” (Vespa👉🏻Vespista).

My first 4C road trip was a success! The trip between Central FL to Roanoke VA was 10hrs one way. My arms are tired but she performed flawlessly, no surprises. 😆 I do think I’ll tweak alignment to make high speed highway cruising more comfortable though. Had some fun on the blue ridge parkway and back road twisties. Camping was a success too. Great trip overall. 💪🏻

With two of my nephews for a 🍕...

I'm trying to pass on the passion for cars to the new generations.
For the other passion🐽😎...well, I'll leave it to them independently😊
As you can see, the place itself well to launching "subliminal messages" on the motoring theme…

Holy crap…What place is that?! One of those (bright red) is a Guzzi Falcone and the other looks like something out of the 1930s. (Is it a 250/500 Sport?) What beauties! A high-class pizza joint with, I assume, an appreciative, high-class clientele.

Cleaned Bella up after a 2940 mile trip from SLC to CT with a day at Pitt race along the way (150 miles there!). Hoo Humm

2940 miles!!!! I drove 400 miles and found the quicksilver exhaust a little tiresome when you put some load on the engine. But at very low loads at a constant 75 mph, it was very quiet. Definitely need to clean the front end with all the bug splatter going through the fruit basket of America.

Installing a 12" rearview mirror camera today on the Spider. Next month, Squadra Tuning (Stephan Lenoir) Stage 1 tune.

Not able to copy a reel from Instagram, but I wanted to share anyway. I’m over the moon with the job Toronto Buffing did on my 4C. Not a stone chip in sight, and now fully wrapped. Good for the next 8 years and then some.

That looks incredible. Really well done. What did they do for the chips?

We added the Alpine KTP-445A Power Pack to my stock head unit yesterday and today. The hardest part of installing it was pulling the head unit out far enough to get my hands around back to plug in the new cable.

I am going to say it does improve the overall sound of the system. Still not great, but not nearly as hollow sounding.

Thank you Sam from The Detail Devil for helping out!

Had the AC recharged today, as it wasn't blowing that cold anymore. 114 of 370 grams left of yr1234. Come to think of it, it is more than 6 years ago since the system was touched....

It’s not degradation. It is a closed system. Freon levels should not change. Minuscule leaks are inevitable even on a properly sealed circuit, but will likely never amount to enough to require recharge.
It may be that modern systems need replacement for lubrication’s sake at some point, but as far as refrigerant quantity, if it changed then it leaked. And your new charge will leak as well.
The best defence against seals aging and allowing leaks, is to run the system frequently. But it is not an absolute guarantee against refrigerant loss.

Ordered from here:

It took a few weeks to arrive and then I let it sit in the garage for a year until I finished it. I’d actually forgotten about it until I was clearing out the garage for paint and flooring.

It will come kind of folded up—I thought for sure it would be worthless because at first the vinyl didn’t want to come loose from the contact paper.

I lined it up, flattened it out against the wall, and dry installed it. Very slowly, a small section at a time, ensuring the contact paper was never too far away from the vinyl.

If a piece started to stick to the contact paper, I’d flatten it back until it adheres to the wall.

From start to finish, it took me around 45 minutes—I’d cut away excess paper as I moved down the logo and design.

The thin, intricate areas were the most difficult to separate and set properly.

I used a pair of wrapping gloves to smooth out pieces that bubbled or didn’t quite adhere to the wall correctly. You can pick up a cheap set from Amazon or Vvivid vinyl.

I also used a heat gun here and there to smooth, pull and reapply if needed.

I’m 5’10” and the shed to my left is 6’’4”—should provide a better reference point of how high I went and perspective on my technique.

The parts not connected to other vinyl were a bit tricky—like the gas cap and blinker.

Edit: @Admin , can’t add pics again.

Thanks so much for sharing! Is that the largest size - 78"? I love the black, but did you ever consider any of the other colors? I wish they had images showing the other colors.

I finally go my Foxwell tool to recalibrate my steering angle sensor :D it eluded me until I learned that it comes under ABS in the modules:rolleyes:
TC/DSC, Hillstart etc all working again
Now I feel like doing all the detail stuff (y)
Reading that over, I’m wondering if I used too many smilies :p

Hey All, today I'm premiering a video featuring my 4C compared to the Lotus Emira and Lotus Elise. Even thought these are very different cars, this was a fun and interesting comparison to do, so I hope you'll check it out and share your thoughts. This review of EMIRA vs ELISE vs ALFA 4C is set to Premier on my YouTube channel at 5:30pm Eastern today! First time trying this YT feature - here's what it is... "When you set your video as a Premiere, you and viewers can watch it together, at the same time. A public watch page gets created and shows a countdown to the start of your video. When your video starts, you can interact with viewers in live chat and comments." As always, welcome your thoughts on these fabulous cars.

Best, Peter
