Few days ago I found the windshield washer all gone. I was very suspect coz I only use few time washer since new. Today, I top up new windshield washer using the tube but after a while all washer leak to the floor! I will let my dealer check in the new regular service, but just want to know if anyone has same issue, thanks!
On one, a clip failed ahead of the w/w pump and the hose came off - I emptied a whole 4L jug into the reservoir before I realized my feet were getting wet (yes, that truck would normally take 4+ litres).
On another one, the reservoir developed a small split at the bottom, very hard to see but when the car was moving it would somehow contort enough to start leaking - nothing came out when the vehicle was parked. Took a long time to find that problem, but at least it was me and not an hourly-paid mechanic trying to diagnose it!
I've had frost blow holes in tubing or break pumps, but that isn't your issue in Hong Kong.
Good luck with it. I suspect that a hose has come off the pump or the reservoir. Do you have any water on the cabin floor?
thanks for your suggestion! lucky no water found on the cabin floor! Since my car is lowered by 15mm, I was worry the reservoir got hit by speed ramp or floor something(and I guess the reservoir won't locate that low...) but I check the underneath cover, no damage is found.
The reservoir is up high and in no danger of being hit.
I seldom use my squirters. After about a year, I was picking my car up from the dealer. I have a standing rule there, never wash my car. The windshield was real dirty so I hit the squirter and nothing happened. It had worked fine the last time I used it.
Dealer filled the reservoir and still nothing squirted out. The inspection found a bad line at the nozzle tips. Warranty fixed it.
I just drove my car last night, and I placed a fuse in the wrong spot in the junction box. So after i got on the road, I noticed that the cigarete plug wasn't working and I thought the wiper pump wasn't either (no liquid squirting). I just couldn't hear the pump was working but no liquid. LOL Phew... Thanks for the heads up Doc
I don't drive the car that much, nor use the squirter much. The tank holds about a 1/2 gallon, so I think these tank lids seal poorly at the top and have a tendency to evaporate.
