I think there are others here on the forum that are also with "the lizard" and were able to get OE replacements.
Making you whole only means that damaged parts are fixed or replaced, it has nothing to do with the use of OEM parts.

I don't see the problem with made to order, in fact what you're saying makes no sense, because since it's already made to order, you'll never have to worry about supply as they will just make it for you...
Ok I didn’t realize it was “made to order”. I must have missed that.
My question then is how long do they take to make once we put in “an order”??

Your car did not come equipped with a lesser quality/generic/non-OE windshield, I wouldn't think using that as a replacement would be the same as returning you to the state prior to your loss either? That's like saying using used parts or using a hammer to straighten out damaged metal parts would be ok , and some insurance companies try to do that as well.....

I guess it's all about what you're comfortable with. I would never settle for non-OE or used parts (and have not in past claims for myself). But I have never been with the lizard so I'm not sure what their fine print says......hopefully they will resolve this to your satisfaction.

I had to have the windshield replaced in the M4 once..... it had the special green glass for the HUD. They didn't want to pay for OEM BMW glass but a aftermarket windshield. It states they can use OEM quality replacement parts. So we met in the middle, they paid a bit more than the aftermarket glass and I made up the difference

OEM has solar control glass. I would not accept aftermarket without it.

Geico originally told me a few days ago that when they checked with Safelite there was no aftermarket windshield available. Now obviously the glass shop said there was, but who knows. Geico also said they were willing to pay up to like $3,500 and some change for a windshield. Haven't heard anything back yet. AlfaRomeoCare escalated my case Friday, so I figure it may need some business days to sort out. I just wan't a damn windshield replacement.

Jealous you were able to order one. May need you to have them get me one!

A quick quote on the Safelite site gave a price of $1509. That is the quote for paying cash. No idea if their site is wrong.

Update. My windshield just got here today way ahead of schedule. Did you get that in writing or can you? Because they're telling me the opposite that there is an aftermarket solution and won't pay for my oem glass. BTW you're in FL too right?
