A 308 is cheaper than a 4C (at least the purchase price). Maintenance may be a slightly different story but they aren't that bad as far as Ferraris go.
in Canada I wasn’t able to find a single decent 308 for under $100k cdn. I bought my 4c for $58 cdn. In the great white north they aren’t even close. I wish they were.
Either way, I’m overjoyed with the 4c.

Aren’t you glad your drinking buddies aren’t Trabant fans?

Interesting - 308s here are around $45-$50K asking now. I think maybe a couple years ago they were around $80K+ (USD) but they haven't been that high for a while (unless ultra low miles or an extremely rare variant).

Definitely no contest if you are getting a 4C cheaper than a 308!!! I would be even more overjoyed hah

Ferrari prices are an interesting study. (lots out there, incl. Hagerty, Aldousvoice, etc)
They typically have a 'sequence' about them.

There are 308's available for well under $100k available now, but there were ALL kinds of 308's available here not too long ago below $50k CDN, I even know an exotic dealer that bought one for well under $30K!! The fact that they are now in 355 and 360 territory....hmmmmmm

Actually, they were so ridiculously low priced that some were even being chopped to make them look like GTOs ....hmmmm (AGAIN!) How do I know ....because I rescued the back half of one ;-)
This way I could partially enjoy the 308 experience without another maintenance bill!!

Cheers

I don't want to derail the thread but I agree 100%! They were under $30K for a long time. They are nearly back there today since even asking on Dupont registry is around $50K USD for what seem to be very reasonable or very average cars. These are not rare cars with 308/328 production over 20k but they are very recognizable because of Magnum PI. Great car but thankfully they are likely going to be below $50K and accessible for a while.

Back to the 4C discussion, I did some more driving this past weekend and dang the thing is awesome!

I have owned a bunch of cars during my lifetime, from oddballs like a Merkur XR4Ti to an Audi S4 and S5, Maserati Ghibli SQ4, Porsche Cayman S, A couple Lotuses (Loti?) that I loved, and everything in between, and I'm finding out I don't like a car where everything is filtered out, at least not for my "fun" car. That brought me to the 4C. Cars just have way too much crap in them today for my taste. The Alfa is just a simple pleasure. Plus it's REAL easy on the eyes.

my logic

My requirements:
1. Had to be unique
2. Had to be petite (agile and fun to toss around)
3. Had to be spirited
4. Had to be sexy
5. Below $80k and in factory warranty

Alfa 4c made the cut in every way! I still totally love the car!!

What I did not bargain for but came with the package:

1. Amazing driving experience – sounds great inside and out
2. Looks.. looks from everyone. I have had unique things always but this one is a look magnet. Embarrassing at times.

Others that did not make the cut:

a. Considered the Porsche cayman – but everyone has one
b. Lotus Elise – outdated technology
c. Lotus Exige – not avail in US for street and also pricey
d. BMW – too bulky

PS: This group played an important role.. without it I would not have gained the confidence to take a leap into a new unproven model. Thank you!

PS2: If given the truth serum.. the root reason is perhaps mid-life crisis??
