I don't know why I didn't do this long ago. I feel so much better about driving it around with the protection.

I got the nose, full hood, full fenders, mirror caps, and custom 1 piece side rockers done.

Yes, XPEL is the single best spend for my car. I did the whole exterior, and it does cost $$$, but soooooo worth it not to worry. The black plastic on grill is now turning white due to all of the debris I hit with the car, so I couldn't imagine what the paint would be like without the XPEL!

When the black front grill gets too many knicks....consider painting it with bed liner.....it will look just as good as the stock but will be bullet proof. That is one area that it makes more sense to do the bed liner instead of PPF on it.

I have been sooo happy with it that I would very likely do the bumper, hood, front quarter panels, and possibly rear bumper on any future nice car purchase.

As @DerwoodEE noted, XPEL and other PPFs are not without issues. It really comes down to two issues, the installer quality and edge details. Most installers get the precut sheets, and this means the edge of the film is a few millimeters from the actual edge of the panel. Over time, dirt can build up and make the seams visible. I am attaching two photographs that show what I am talking about. Given how much I have abused my car on track, I am very very willing to put up with these minor blemishes. In fact, most seams are nearly invisible unless you get the light at just the right angle.

I had SunTek Ultra installed over all painted surfaces as well as the carbon fiber around the windshield and the the carbon fiber you climb over to get into the car. All of the SunTek Ultra was cut from a flat sheet. I also had CQuartz Finest Reserve applied over every external surface (including the PPF and the wheels). Cost OTD was $6500k. That was a huge investment but I know Italian paint is weak and my car has the Rosso Competizione paint so it's nearly possible to match with touch up. For that matter it's even very difficult for a reputable paint shop to spray properly. I plan to keep it long term so it was worth every penny. I knew going in it was something that "had" to be done so I just considered it part of the purchase price when deciding whether to buy the vehicle.

They will tell you that any small trapped bubble will go away in a week or two.
Some may, some will not.
Parking in the hot sun helps with that. If we ever get any of that this spring.

Keep a close eye, and if you don’t like the result be sure to become a thorn in the installer’s side until it’s fixed.

Just picked it up.
Looks amazing. Overall very pleased. A couple small “bubbles” especially over previous stone chips, but I guess that’s reasonably expected. Installer was excellent about making sure if anything came up to contact him and he’ll remedy it right away. He said next time we get a nice sunny day (if that ever happens) to leave it out in the sun a while. Any excuse to sit and look at this beauty in the sun I’ll take.
And now I feel so much better about driving it and not worrying too much about stone chips. ?
