AC hardware is under the front bonnet just under the windshield wiper and the fill/drain ports are in front of that. Pretty easy access once you get the hood off which honestly is pretty easy. I got it done as part of another service because the AC and heat core needed to be disconnected to get under them. Total for that service including complete removal and refill of both AC and coolant/heat system plus repair under them was 8 hours labor and 500 parts. I would guess that the AC component was maybe 2-3 hours labor and 300 parts.

So very very rough estimate $600-900 depending where you get it done?

Mine is from 2019 and right now is at the dealer because it doesn’t work. They say it is a leak but i find it odd because i check with MES and pressure sensor measurement is >15 bar… I will share when fixed

 

AC is a funny thing. Its fine or it fails. Rocks etc hit things and cause leaks. harsh bumps cause leaks.....etc

 

I had to have the system recharged two years ago. They didn’t find the leak, but checked the connections. So far it is still working well.
seven years on the original charge.

 

In my case it was finally a leak in the condenser. It seems logic as it is a relatively exposed part. Replacement an recharge almost 800€… At least it looks like it works right now

 

I have just replaced my condenser, as it had started to leak. It’s not a hard diy job. The condenser was £122, the recharge £100.

 

If your tech is clueless, find a new tech.
