Definitely not normal. Best to check vacuum leak and compression 🙌🏽

Sounds to me like a misfire. Check your coil packs and spark plugs.

 

Considering the mileage maybe inspect the intake valves for carbon buildup.

 

Mine has these sudden "gunshots" at idle, it loses maybe 50 to 100 rpm for an instant and goes back to normal.
Given how our cars are made, I can feel them clearly throughout the cabin. They happen every 3-5 seconds when standing at a red light, you can actually hear them from the exhaust as well.

I had my Alfa garage look into it, they said it was known to them and all the 4Cs they look after do it to some extent. I wasn't convinced, so they had me jump into a 2019 Spider they had there for sale with 1200 miles on the clock and it did the very same thing mine does.

Anyone has had the same experience?

 

No, idk what that is. I never heard or experienced that, If it’s as apparent as you say it is I feel like I would notice. If possible a video would help me understand

 

Mine is dead nuts stable with AW ecu, less stable with stock ecu.

 

Mine was other way around....dead stable oem 900 rpm ecu and 1000rpm unstable AW ecu (mine AW ecu is probably one of the first gen.)

 

Mine jumps slightly to the most minimal degree. The battery is 10 y/o though, so I'll see when I change it out. I have a video, but the Forum won't let me post it directly.

I have the next service scheduled for November, I could get my battery replaced then… or earlier even, probably non-OEM batteries are just as good and a fair bit cheaper than the Alfa thing.

 

Faulty spark plugs. I had this issue with my exhaust making "sputtering / popping" sounds at idle and new plugs fixed it.
