Love your passion and outlook on life
Zero-political 2 cents here: Love crazy dads... I dream of growing a zeus white beard and hair, bench 300+ for when my eventual daughters bring some poor scrawnies in.
Seeing lots of gun references, which might've worked in the 90's, but today kids come with their own walmart special and much call-of-duty-trained thug friends (really? You haven't noticed?). The best way to impress crazy dad on the new tides is actually the Alfa, or your most expensive toys.
Anger is the handle that media, politicians, and dads will have left to make today's desensitized, robotic masses (they know this well... It's the surprisingly larger pandemic) do whatever they want. Even this gets increasingly numb.
The classics are what's new again, then. Show them the good life your family nonchalantly enjoys, show them what a great dad is, how supported and loved your children are. Then the young guns become gymnasts to impress you... Like actually sticking to that 11pm curfew and actually listening to your gurl rather than seeing her mouth move as they imagine what pornhub taught them. They will want to join your gang, be in your house.

-And that puts them in your pocket. Admiration and being a role model is the strongest pull, and is the best "gieger counter" test to the toxicity of any guy: how little or how much they respect you will show you quickly, and without awkward questions/dialogue, how toxic or normal they will be for your loved one. If they straight disrespect your asks and "house rules" (given you're sane or not a strict cult soldier), then they are just more entitled, ignorant trash (then hopefully that shotgun won't be involved) - All that will be left is educating your daughter, as you have been, that there's more to a real man than abs, looks, a guitar, etc, and that they deserve a world better, aim higher. The world is a big place, overpopulated, so finding better that will appreciate them is an eternal opportunity, never give up, never settle. Unless you want to, then keep to those vows, that's what the point is (sometimes ppl want to settle, fatigue happens even to forged chromoly eventually, no hate there).

Technology has come by leaps and bounds over the last 20 years and you can’t keep up.
Your children are what you live for and we try to give them the best head start in life. Sometimes they don’t appreciate it and that is what is disappointing as they are caught up in so much social media and don’t know how to communicate in conversation face to face.
Me personally I am not interested in Facebook, what’s app etc.
This is the only social media I am involved in as I am surrounded in an environment that we all treasure and learn so much from our passion of our raw machines
There are so many walks of life on here and every one has different opinions on everything from A to Z.
How awesome would it be for all members on a global scale to go for a drive day together. We might actually need a week. Will never happen but in spirit we share so many experiences here on this board.
One thing I learnt last year from a mental breakdown. Yes you read right mental breakdown . Something I am not ashamed to talk about. It is so common in society and most people put on a facade and hide it as society judges them.
Who the f... am I or you to judge.
Now with family, friends and acquaintances I always ask how they are going.
Reason for that is you might touch someone in a special way and make their day.
Anyhow enough rambling on and going in another direction on this thread.
Learn to be humble and appreciate what you have.🙏

I agree....this should be in the beautiful women and 4C thread. I have 5 kids....two of the are girls. One is married and I have two grandkids by her. My other daughter is about to graduate from NYU with a Masters in Behavioral Neural Science...will be a brain scientist. I get that comment all the time....."Obvious they got their brains and looks from their mother." Well I guess they got the money for college from dad so that counts too ;)
Rob you are a pure Alfisti at heart who should be very proud of your daughters achievements.
Wow a brain scientist. That is what you call a recession proof job.😆

I don't understand what everything after the first sentence has to do with my post(?), Or if you're just giving me a shout out and posting your own thoughts about other things, in which case, yeah man, connection is among the most important things in life, being human, etc. Social media - I also have none except this - still isn't developed not nearly enough to connect anyone better than the "old ways", plenty of documentaries and issues to show this. Being present and actually listening to those you care for is unbeatable, so sure, ask how they are doing, listen and plug in - the human way! (At least thats what I took from your post)

...a little late to the party, Mark...but a huge congrats to Madison and you and the family on the Yr 12 Graduation !!

You should be proud as punch...as should be of such a loving Dad (and Mom).

I’m sure she had no issue with the ‘daggy dad’ syndrome with her being escorted in that glorious, gleaming chariot...what a fab photo and memory to treasure forever.

Know how much the 4C means to you and with your beautiful family...how much joy it brings you.

Look forward to catching up soon...and enjoying a ‘burn’ and chin-wag

Don't piss off an old person. The notion of "Life in Prison" is less of a dis-incentive than you may imagine, as one ages! :D

You might like. Maybe not (it is sort of country music, but JNet is not hard to look at, and the song is a cute story - love, your baby girl!).

I am a bushy at heart 4canada although born and bred as a city slicker.
Country music most of the time is about life in general.
Yep can relate to that especially the words “Please send me money”
I think as parents we can all feel like Al Bundy at times in Married with children .
Sitting on the couch and our children hover over asking for mullah.😂😂😂😂😂😂

My eldest daughter is 16 going on 17 and recently announced the she and her friend (good kid, good family) are now dating/going steady/seeing each other. I’m having a tough time with what it means. I never see her these days, other than a passing word as she goes by.

I listened to a minute of that song and had to stop it and not because it’s country.

Yeah it’s tough, but as I said to one of my mates when his daughter started dating, don’t judge her friend by your standards (my friend was a bit loose in the day) the other thing is to set the standard of behaviour of how you treat her mum and her that she won’t accept anything less from anyone else.

Thanks coffee. She is very sensible and has very high moral standards. Her mother and I started dating when we were teenagers so the only example Zola has seen is of lifelong commitment to each other and our children.
I just miss my archery buddy ;(

I’m not at all sure that I would have made a good parent. Horses don’t give you the same troubles. Although they have kept me up all night a few times and I’ve cried over every one we’ve lost.

As to the song, stick with it. Like all good story tunes, the resolution comes in the final verse, after the bridge! ;)
