Probably, although test drivers at Balocco will have helped you by putting 40km's on the clock during their test drive before it leaves the factory for delivery.
Kaliber, you suppose they'll be using the throttle sparingly during those first 40K? How are they going to know if there are any issues if they don't give it full beans?
This is a very interesting/hot topic. Alfa will most probably give a break-in guidance. But, some will disagree and floor it right out of the showroom. IMHO-the owner is free to do what they choose. I will follow the mfg guidance.
All new engines these days are "Run-In" on the bench, prior to it being fitted to the car. This has helped manufacturers to ensure proper running-in of the motor and avoid expensive repairs due to peoples neglect. so in all honesty, you could probably use "Launch Control" straight off the showroom floor!
having said that, the rest of the drive train, brakes,etc... would need a bit of bedding in
