Oh, I forgot to mention that I was alerted to the delivery by the sound of the UPS man throwing the boxes around in his truck. Heard it from inside my house :ROFLMAO:

He was surprised to see me standing there waiting for him as he dropped the dolly with my wheels on it down out of his truck. I say all this to note how well the wheels are packaged. They survived the brown just fine. I like how how meaningless the "fragile handle with care" note printed on the side of the box is.

Finally after 11 months I've got the wheels in. They are lighter in color than I was expecting, but I'm not mad about it... Supposed to be brushed bronze, but it's more of a gold. Oh well, stunning either way. I love how the brushed finish catches the light. Just need to order another set to give John more headaches
I think the goldish color will look great on your black 4C. I see you are going to use Potenza RE71 tires. I am interested in why you chose them. I've had the previous version RE71 on a Miata and an MR2 and loved them.

Returned from a trip to find my wheels had been delivered, brushed double gunmetal gloss. They are spectacular in person, finish quality is excellent and the brushing really sets them off. As others have mentioned they were extremely well packaged too. I'll take a decent pic or two once they are mounted.

I almost bought RT660s, but Bridgestone had a rebate that made the price the same. Plus the RE-71RS are slightly lighter.

I have the previous version RE-71R on my 124 and freak'n love them. I've heard people say they aren't the same, but I hope they are at least similar. In Tire Rack's 200tw comparison they were essentially a tie for first place with the A052.

In retrospect that is more the colour I was thinking of when I ordered mine. I might end up getting mine repainted as I think mine are still a shade too dark. Oh well.
Brushed Celestial Gold is matrix gold; it's the same color tone reconstituted as a clear coat to work on a brushed wheel. It does present as lighter given it's brushed and the aluminum comes through the clear.

Celestial (on the car) next to matrix (not on car). Neither are super clean but I think this shows it.

@John4C - What are the chances you can line up the gold variations side by side? Are you getting samples of these colors? Picking a color for the Stradale 33 wheels is going to be tough!
I have been trying to get better samples of the colors for a bit. I think it may come eventually. They had one ready for me when I was there but a few didn't come out right so I left without them.

I have most of the golds on wheels in my garage (I have Brushed Light Gold (Gloss), Brushed Celestial Gold (Satin), Brushed Champagne (Satin), and Matrix Gold). I also have better pics of Brushed Bronze and Rich Gold (an underrated color imho) from when I saw them while I was there. I will post some of it soon (including videos of the whole process, which are awesome btw). It's all on my camera and I have been super busy with a few things lately so haven't even taken the stuff off the memory card yet.

I am actually trying to mix something specifically for the 33 Wheel. The process to mix a new color is long though. I hope to have it soon-ish but there's really no timeline for that process.

Hey, while we are talking. I can’t find what everyone thought was the best tire pressure on 225/40-18 and 255/40-18 Michelins. Not track, just hauling ass in the mountains. Sorry folks, this might be off subject for this thread.

So will a gloss clear-coat lighten the colour a tad? If so, that may be a cheaper way out.

Gloss will slightly.

This is a function of it being brushed though (both wheels are satin). Brushed is a clear over the raw aluminum. It's lighter because you see the aluminum through the color (e.g. the color is itself a tinted clear coat).

17/18 Stefania double brushed gunmetal! Absolutely beautiful wheels, pictures really don't do them justice. I wanted something that would match the carbon fibre on my car as close as possible and these are pretty much an exact match. Received them on Friday and got them mounted the same day, and on the track less than 24 hours later!
