Love that look, before the group buy I was debating to strip my Titan 7s and do something similar…
It is a great look. I did a couple wheels that are similar. One is for me (no holes), the other is for a friend (w/holes).Love that look, before the group buy I was debating to strip my Titan 7s and do something similar…
Those wheels are a sitting duck to life events. My fingers are tired after scrolling 105 pages. It seems the 17/18 community is very small. Is my math wrong when I see 19-20 lbs weight loss in unsprung weight going from a stock 18/19 teledial to a 17/18 Ekra brushed. Even less if I stick to a 9 inch wheel in the rear. I have A HISTORY OF RUBBING FENDER LINERS SO TOO MUCH of a flush fit is a major concern. I love feedback from folks about track .....I was surprised by it too honestly. This is my 255/35/19 Pilot Sport 4S (same tire) on an identical spec wheel. Idk what could be causing the difference so welcome any ideas…

Mine are 17/18”. Your maths is reasonable. I’ve saved about 1kg/wheel over the standard 17/18” wheels. Much more if you compare them to 18/19” originals. They went 18/19” inch because their originals were 18/19” and they went that way for the look, nothing else. Those wheels are a sitting duck to life events. Stock tire sizes? What are the dimensions of your wheels?A year on, I bought the suspension AND the wheels. Resistance was futile.🙄😁 Very satisfied with the results.
Originally on the new wheels I had 205/45 Michelin PSS on the front but found the sidewall height was a cm or two smaller than I was expecting which reduced front clearance too much for me. I went to 215/45x17 Continental Max Contacts in the front and 235/40x18 Conti SportContact6 at the rear. I wanted 245/40’s but can’t get them in SC6 or 7. The MC6 is comparable to the Michi PS4, while the SC6 feels more like the Michi PSS. I’ll probably end up with MC6 on the rear when the SC6 wear out simply through lack of choice. They are much cheaper than their Michelin counterparts.Stock tire sizes? What are the dimensions of your wheels?
At last. There is no upsides with low rubber profile, only exception are if one like the looks.17/18 is where it's at. Its staggering how good the car feels on the road with the extra tire. It's no luxury car but it really lets you hit road imperfections without remorse. I think it looks better too, though I get that many people like the look of huge wheels, I like when there isn't a huge gap around the brakes and the meaty tires make it look like a sports car.
~22lbs lighter than the stock 18/19 Teledials for the 17/18 sets, yes. The 17/18 community is smaller than 18/19 but not really small. Probably 1/3rd of all the 4C wheels have been 17/18. There are some very heavy track users in that group as well and zero reports of rubbing. Those wheels are a sitting duck to life events. My fingers are tired after scrolling 105 pages. Lovely fitment. Nice, safe clearance of the arches too. What‘s the camber on the front and rear?7.5x17, 28mm offset
9x18, 30mm offset
Tekla satin black
Cup2 Connect, 215/45-17 and 245/40-18

About 2° rear, around 1°20’ / 1°30’ front. Front will be dialed up to almost the same as rear when time allows, the new GMS front arms took away some. I like a tad more rear camber for safety.Lovely fitment. Nice, safe clearance of the arches too. What‘s the camber on the front and rear?
Exactly the same camber as mine. I’ve made a recommendation to another Sydney member very similar to your specs; Front Et26 and rear Et30 with the same widths. The Cup2s are wider than some other road tyres of the same width so those offsets provide a little more clearance of the arches nor change handling characteristics as much.About 2° rear, around 1°20’ / 1°30’ front. My focus was to keep rear rubber slightly wider than front, as this is my hypothesis for solving my tramlining issues.
The 245s is designed for 8.5” width, so slightly stretched, but agreed, look and feels OK, but not tested anywhere near limits yet.
We thought 28mm was max with regards to caliper clearance, but I think maybe even the 33mm OEM is doable in Tekla. Will measure. I suspect going closer to OEM will behave better on uneven surface, not getting the steering wheel getting ripped out of your hands, so maybe a better choice for most of “normal” users.Exactly the same camber as mine. Love them! I also went with this finish. 😊I had an unexpected package delivered today. Packaging was excellent and product is better than I could have expected. Wheels are extremely light. Oh double brushed gunmetal. View attachment 143769 View attachment 143768 View attachment 143769
