I have been in touch with Racer Z and am investigating the TSB that resolved his issue, but I am curious if anyone else out there has experienced this on more than one occasion. If so, I would like to know the fix. For more than a year I have been dealing with the "Christmas Tree of Death" where I am either driving or sitting idle and the entire dash lights up with every error message known to the dash. It has spent 6 months of its life in the shop, with what appears to be zero real help from Alfa and the STAR techs. It has left me with nothing more to do than to reach out to this group to see if you can help me find the root cause so that I can track my car and drive it with confidence. I am hoping my pictures uploaded to give you an idea of what I am dealing with here. Thank you, in advance, for any help you can provide.

I have a 2015 non launch edition car, but I have never seen this error before. Sorry that I can't help, but RacerZ is a good source of info.

If you find out, I'd like to know what the OBDII diagnostic codes reveal when this happens. Do a bunch of them trip, just 1, or none and it's something with the dash display ?

Looks like she got a new LE right after the accident as she mentions this on her first post about the accident, " but now I have already purchased #395 to replace her"

If you have a fault on a number of different systems the fault is always near a main power source like the battery or leads to or from it. The battery earth lead is known issue on the 4C so i would check that carefully.

When I first got my 2015 I had something like that happen within a couple weeks.
But all it was just the battery had a bad cell also the battery terminals were dirty. Could it be that simple for you?

My tech is going to clean the battery terminals and apply dielectric grease to ensure that is not an issue if it happens again.

@decatur I am picking her back up tomorrow to see if it happens again, but will get the codes for you and share them. My awesome tech has been doing this for 30 years and I totally trust him and believe he absolutely knows what he is doing. He even asks me to reach out for help, so I believe in him even more.

When I give my 4C a wash I place towels over the components beneath the 3 heat vents on the rear hatch. I’m paranoid about water being sprayed under pressure getting into places where it’s not meant to be. Put it this way, it can’t hurt to be too careful. No electrical issues yet, touch wood. You probably do this already, but mentioned just in case you don’t. Hope your tech has resolved your issue Angelacca.

I don’t spray down into the vents directly with my power washer. The battery (looking forward) is to the left of the left vent. And the battery has a rubber cover. So to get any significant amount of water you would almost have to try to get it wet.

I am betting a weak battery (is it the original one that came in the car which would be 3 years old I would think...and sat on a lot for a while). Of course always clean and use the battery post grease to make sure a good connection. Modern cars need a very good ground so if it isn't you get multiple CELs. If a specific problem area you would usually just get that one CEL....not everything lighting up.

Finally just short drives won't keep the battery fully charged so you may want to get a battery tender if the car gets infrequent use.

Whenever the lights or indicators in my Sud start acting up the earth wire is the first thing I go to. It’s reassuring that the 4C maintains some of the old traditions.

@Alfanut my tech says there are no water markings anywhere of concern, he did clean the terminals and applied grease. @bcorner None of this ever happens around moisture, a bath, rain, etc.
I appreciate all of the suggestions and really appreciate them. I brought her back home today to "wait" until it happens again.

Angellaca, re the pictures:

You can either drag & drop .png or .jpg files from your computer, or if you choose "go advanced" at the bottom of the window where you write what you want to say, there will be an option to "manage attachments" - choose it then browse to select the photo files you want to upload.

These will show up as thumbnails on the bottom of your post (you have to have text in the post as well).

You can draw them into the post itself by right-clicking on the thumbnails and choosing "copy image address", then clicking on the spot in the post where you want the image to appear and then pasting that into the window created after clicking on the photo icon above your post (yellow square with mountain and sun at the top). You will need to delete anything after the words "attachmentid=#####" - usually "&thumb=1", for the photo to display correctly. You can also use this tool to link to images already on the internet (facebook, Imgur, or other photo hosting sites).


The result in the draft window will look like

This will make more sense when you try it yourself.
