It’s about time for another decent drive. May 21 to the Rockley Pub via the less travelled scenic route.

It’s been a while since our last group drive. I just did a reconnaissance drive for an Alfa Club run I’m planning and thought, with a slight variation, this would be an ideal drive for the 4Cs. Basically heading towards our old haunts but this time going though Burraga on the way to lunch at Rockley….The road surface is absolutely first class. Just shows what can be done when when a solid foundation is prepared for the logging trucks that ply the roads during the week.
Dog Rocks Road has been completely patched too. It’s in much better condition than this time last year.
Easter School holidays, an Alfa Club drive and Mothers’ Day kind of makes me wary of doing this any earlier, though May 7 could be a date. May 21 is the Sunday following Mothers’Day.
Who’s up for a drive?
Same start location as last time, the cafe car park opposite Richmond RAAF base at 7:30 for an 8AM launch. First stop at Monkey Creek for those who only want to do a short morning run up the Bells Line (though you’ll miss the best part of the drive).

I still can't believe that I didn't see this hole in the car park - it was deep enough to leave the 4C grounded. Luckily the only damage was to the sacrificial vinyl wrap 😂

Time to get a new Owners Club sticker. 😧
Fabulous photos, Alf. You really captured the mood of the day. I didn’t take any inside the Vic & Bertie. Did you or anyone else take any?

The pics I took in the Vic and Bertie weren't that great as I had a telephoto lens on the camera and the light levels were low, so I got slightly blurred images.
I was most impressed with the renovations, for any Sydney locals, it would be worth a drive up to Mount Vic for the Christmas in July festivities at the Vic and Bertie Hotel (AKA Victoria and Albert Hotel)

The autumn colours came up beautifully, Alf. It’s certainly a lovely time of year to explore the mountains and slopes.

I forgot about the wedding… Still, it was a very good day. We need to do a whip-around for Mark and get him something to replace that Renault F1 jacket of his. 😉😂👍

I was wondering where you were going with that cavernous hole in your way. I thought you were trying a delicate manoeuvre to straddle it until you almost beached yourself. You just about got it up on three wheels too. That hole was a lot deeper than it looks on the photo. There was a moment a horror but glad it was only the sacrificial tape that did its job.

Very old jacket Jim. In the day I used to collect alot of f1 memorabilia.😉

I was a closet Renault F1 fan (when we had a Megane II) but I’m better now. 😂 I’ve got a Scalextric 2004 Renault F1 (Alonso’s car) that I race against my son’s 2004 Schumacher Ferrari. 😁

At the end of the rainbow you may not find a pot of gold, but there could be a line of 4C's

Lovely images, Alf. Do you have any other non-incriminating video?

I had to crop that short video to avoid incriminating myself 😂

You need to get out more. 😁 Don’t knock it until you try it. The damp really enhanced the mood of the day. It wasn’t teeming down, just damp from being in the clouds. Have a good look at the sky, the scenery and road. Just fabulous to be driving in.
