The world's smartest people balance out an Alfa garage with a Toyota, but tell us why you're driving to Seattle. That ain't something I hear every day.
Giving my daughter the Taco for graduation from University of Washington. I refuse to buy a car I can’t see and drive, and am bringing home her leased CX5. The lease is ending and I bought it out for a really great price will give that to my older daughter, already took care of the youngest she has an A3 cabrio.
I will decompress on the drive out, see my Mom for her 92nd birthday, do middle daughter graduation. Then take a slow drive back with my Ex-Girlfriend (? Should be fun)) and go to Glacier, Jackson Hole and Yellowstone, Mt Rushmore. Taking a couple of weeks total, three days out and eight days back plus time in Seattle. I grew up in Seattle.
My regret is not driving one of the Alfas but honestly driving a 4C x-country and back, lots of boring mileage and not a lot of comfort. Figure 7,000 miles total driving.
I will bring back a massaged cylinder head with matched intake manifold and 40 DCOE Webers that was built for me long ago by a master Italian Alfa and Ferrari engine guru, Carlo Durante at Alfa of Tacoma, who passed from COVID. It was in my first Alfa, an Alfetta GT and it will be reconditioned and carbs refurbished and go into a ‘74 spider I will soon have up and running. My small Alfa collection will be complete.
If I love the Taco maybe I’ll get rid of the Stelvio and Automatic Milano and get a Taco for myself and have the 4C/GTV6/Spider for fun. We’ll see.
