An early start please if going via the Nasho. Can somone do a route plan. Maybe down Lawrence Hargraves Drive to Helensburgh then down the Princes Hwy...Meet up with Gong Guys the same as last time, before the roundabout at Haywards Bay behind Hungry Jacks/ Coles Express. It’s all full of Sunday tourists no matter which way you go from there but the earlier the better. I take it we are talking about this Sunday coming, Cas?
Who’s in?
Pending no rain, ill come for the initial meet and greet but down to the gong i might skip, trying to watch my Kilometres at the moment i had a 1000km month
Guy's don't waste your time going through nasho park heaps of push bikes slow and bears everywhere. I suggest get on the old princess Hwy after waterfall and then down Bulli pass. Heaps better drive.
Personally a spirited drive through mccarrs creek road and west head has all the twists, corners, cafes you’d ever want. Oh wow it’s super close to my home too
This is not my baby...I’d like just to tag along this time. BUT...I was thinking of doing the reverse of our last jaunt run by 25trbo and alfa1105. Going to Kiama the back way, then down to Berry, Kangaroo Valley to Robertson then either down Macquarie Pass or Jamberoo Pass (a bit narrow for Sunday traffic). That was my fall-back in case no-one had any other suggestions but keeping it loose in case of rain on the coast.
Just did a drive with the local Fiat club last weekend so I would love to join you guys on Saturday. Unfortunately, it means putting 19,534 miles on my car to get from Newport News Virginia to Sydney and back. LOL
Actually, the real reason I want to touch base is this September is my 25th anniversary and my wife wanted to spend a couple of weeks in Hawaii. She has been once and I've been 23 times so I wasn't to enamored with a 24th trip but I suggested 10 days in Australia instead - assuming COVID-19 is behind us by then. What we'd like to do is me up with some of you, have dinner, drinks, see your cars and get told where the good place to go, eat and visit are... We are NOT typical American tourists. We prefer to immerses ourselves in the local customs and learn/experience the land, culture and people we are visiting. I can be a fat, lazy, overfed American anytime at home...
I hope to be able to finalize our travel plans by early next month...
The only trouble is being allowed into the Country. We’ll have opened up to NZ but unlikely anywhere else for quite some time. Our borders are still closed...and not the UK or US definition of closed. We mean really closed except for returning citizens and they have two weeks of compulsory, guarded quarantine in a city hotel. In NSW we’ve had no community spread of Covid for 12 days. They won’t do anything to spoil extending the record. When do you want to come over?
Our anniversary is September 2 but we are flexible on the time of celebration. Of course we are aware that your are heading for summer in September while we are heading for fall...
if you really would like a good drive
how about meeting at the servos in Pheasants Nest down thru Kangaroo Valley to Kiama and a quick sprint up the hwy and home
dont have to do it this time but as i live in the highlands im biased to the good driving etc
just a thought
see attached map
Still in at the moment,,but if the odd shower turns heavier in the forecast I may pike it, but not as yet. I’m looking forward to meeting up with a few new faces as well as the regulars.
Also, I’ve been getting far more auto-correction errors with my posts in the last day or so that seem to correspond to the Forum updates.....or I’m losing my mind. Either way it’s bloody annoying.
