Went out for a fang and passed this guy, caught on my new DVR rear camera mirror....

Life would be better if I knew how to post pics directly....
Couldn't load/find the movie.

Took my car to the dealer for the 12 month service. Car also needs the suspension TSB and rear cabin window replacement. Needed for 4 days ;(

They are building a Rosso Pogea Centurion. The tech is very impressed with the clone - has looked at the tune and is impressed that it is not just boost (can't say I understand much about the technical side). Apparently it has been sent back for the 400hp tune!
Car build includes full body kit, KW coil overs with hydraulic lift kit, centre exhaust, stage 1 ecu, BMC filter and hoses.
I have asked about the AR carbon roof and carbon bumper "handles" availability and price recently seen at the Geneva motor show. It won't be cheap.
Also asked about the phone pouches and he will check the part numbers listed in another thread (don't seem to be AR part numbers).

Cool to see that my dealer is embracing tuning.. On other visits they have told me about coil over installs they have done, including Intrax as listed by Alfa 9 supply.

Transmission issues have not yet been reported to my dealer, but Gilly should consider talking to them as they are truly passionate about the car.

Spent half an hour hacking about the car which ended on a plan for a track day at Eastern Creek.
That'd be McCarroll's Artarmon. They were the ones that Eduard was talking about who would warrant the Pogea mods for the 4C. I too talked to one of the salesmen about that. He showed me a photo of the Pogea modded 4C. Wasn't dreaming after all. Were you lucky enough to see it in reality Knievil?

Tried to fit a rake, shovel, wheelbarrow and lawn mower in the Alfa. Eventually took the truck.
All I wanted to do this afternoon was fit Jamie's exhaust, only to find my mechanic wasn't able to lift the car as his lift arms couldn't get under the car. He didn't have any ramps to get it up those important first few inches. Bugger.
I've now ordered some race ramps and will have a go at doing it myself next weekend. Had a good look and after that rear under-panel is removed there appears plenty of access. Shouldn't be too difficult at all.

Yesterday I drove it 250 miles to the Kiawah Island Motoring Retreat. Today I cleaned it. Tomorrow I show it in the Supercar class.
I just did a search on this. I wanted to find out what a motoring retreat actually was. It looks like some serious classic automobiles turn up for this. Had a laugh at the first scheduled event being a moonshine tasting session.....then had thoughts of a Bearcat doing doughies in the car park>:). On a more serious note, enjoy your weekend. Looks like a really interesting event.
I'm in the middle of changing engine covers as well as repairing my son's trampoline.

Finally replaced the plastic engine cover with the cf one from Alfisti (Squadra). It ended up being a pretty straight forward job thanks to the input of your good selves but a couple of the pins were shorter than the others to the extent that I had to leave off one of the star clips. Did anyone else have this issue with theirs? S'pose I should now find the appropriate thread. Looks good.

Finally had my Quicksilver exhaust fitted today. I took the cowards way out due to lack of time left in my holidays. My youngest is in a two day chess tournament so decided to find a shop to fit it. Believe me it took a leap of faith to give it to the boys at Ramspeed in Seven Hills but they did a great job. They were extremely careful lifting the car and their alignment of the exhaust was spot on. Very, very happy with their work.
What about the exhaust sound you ask? Jamie, you're a genius. Words fail me. Effing beautiful. All Alfa fours should sound like this. A much nicer, sharper rasp to the note with lovely brap on change-up. It's also a safety feature. They'll hear me coming as well as going! Completely satisfied. It's precisely as Jamie has described and no issues arose while fitting. I endorse this product unreservedly. Ullers and Snake, you were absolutely right.
Thanks again Jamie and Quicksilver.
I'll try to download a few photo's ASAP.

Just bought some Cquartz and Reload. I'm going to give Rudi a rubdown tomorrow. Hmm, might have to change my 4C's name to Rosie.
It feels more natural with a female's name despite the personality.

I took Rosie for her first taste of the Putty Road. Had a late breakfast at Grey Gums then continued up to the end of the twisties, then turned around and did it all again. Had a bike in company on the way back. I invited him to pass but he just sat on my tail and was happy to follow. Needless to say it was on! Nothing too silly but great fun. Got the thumbs up from biker boy too when he eventually passed. I wasn't prepared to continue the 'chase' when the road opened up.
It would be nice to organise a day run up the Putty with the Sydney locals. Anyone interested? Maybe this should be on another thread.
Ended the day filling her with 37L of 98RON. Does it really only hold 40L? Found out that once you're in the red on the fuel gauge you lose the range data. Got 6.0L/100km. What a car! Crap, how do you rotate the photo image?

I installed my fire extinguisher this evening using the Sector 111 mounting bracket. Since I had my own Aussie fire extinguisher I had to drill a couple of extra holes in the bracket. I used one pair of the smaller bolts that came with the mounting kit but they didn't come with any nuts. Luckily, after rummaging around my garage, I found a couple to fit them. Using the carpet screws to mount the extinguisher is a great idea. Easy to mount and no damage done to the carpet. The most time consuming part of the exercise was finding the 5mm nuts. All up, a well spent half hour.
Didn't get Rosie's tyres dirty this weekend. I took the MkV (Guzzi) out on a run to Wisemen's. The bikes have been neglected for the past 2 months since Rosie joined the family. Nice run. Perfect motorcycling weather.

Took my wife out for a drive in the "mountains" west of Sydney on some twisty roads - she loved it!

Got through the run-in period and had Dynamic and Race Modes released for my use. >:)

Have used Dynamic mode :)

Switched Race mode on for a few seconds at the traffic lights...... Saw the no traction control light up....then switched it back off again - it's nice to know it's there, but I don't think I know the car well enough to use it yet.

Cheers,

Alf
Nice to get a run in before another double demerit Queen's Birthday long weekend. I'm sure you know the local roads but the Old Road, Wollombi, Broke, Putty Road, Winsdor loop(400km) or simply a morning run up the Putty to Grey Gums for a coffee are favourites of mine. Then again, if time is short, a run to Wiseman's via McGrath's Hill and Pitt Town is a pleasant little drive. There are some really nice curves to enjoy on all of them. So much fun in a 4C. See you on the road some time Alf. Regards, Jim.

I took Rosie and my youngest son out for a run today. It was the first time I had to use the heater, being a brisk 13 deg C. I discovered the red dot on the heater dial is equivalent to a temp somewhere near that of the the surface of the Sun. It works a treat. Only had to have it on for a minute before we started to roast. Took a drive up to Colo Heights, then back down to Colo River. The twisties from the river up to the heights and back were as good as ever. The old deralict servo at Colo River has been renovated into an OK cafe. No petrol though. Sat for a while with a coffee watching the bikes pass by as well as Rosie in the car park. Sweet! Probably the last run for a few weeks. Off to Japan next week.

Yesterday we put on 115 miles (round trip) for the sake of new underwear. (no pun intended). Stopped for a nice fish dinner on the way home.

Today I drove my wife to the hospital for a "procedure". She getting a kidney sample taken. I'm finally all caught up on my forum reading.
I hope all is well.

Had C-Quartz Finest applied to the car today by Andrew Smith from High Definition Detailing based at Randwick. A very nice, professional car guy and enthusiast. He's coming back in a couple of weeks to show me through the correct process to wash the car. Couldn't ask for more. The treatment is curing overnight and will be ready for the weekend's fun. It looks superb.

Here you go, kind of tricky to get a good shot on an iPhoney with no sunshine - if anything, my crappy pics really don't do them justice, they are a super snug fit and beautifully made, look like OE and really finish off the front end. Very happy, now lets see how they cope with grit hits, fingers crossed.
Really, really nice dukie. Finishes off the front end superbly. Looks like a must have mod for any LE or US car. Thinking it might show up the matte black plastic headlight surround of my AUS SE in a negative way though.

Realized that an Italian sportscar has lasted longer than my marriage. A couple weeks ago I caught my wife of 8mo having an affair. Hence less activity from me recently.

No worries, I'm in a good place. I'm on a flight to the west coast to kick off Monterey week a little early with a detour to Portland to visit a buddy. And in a couple weeks I'll be in an even better place. I'm upgrading to an EC phase 2 ECU. And a bunch of crap for my Abarth. Yay revenge mods!!! :)
Really sorry to hear this Barth.

Not taking anything away from the commensuration taking place with Barth (Sorry man, feel for you), but sorry Foley, not "everyone over 30 is divorced". A few of us have been lucky enough to make it work.
I didn't want to tempt fate by commenting on this as well but I've been fortunate so far too. Hope to keep it that way. 25 years and counting...

We put on about 70 miles in the canyons today. It's a tough job, but somebody has to do it. We spent some time exploring Malibu looking for a meeting spot for Sunday's 4C Rally. I usually just blast through Malibu on my somewhere important (to me) like a twisted canyon. It was a nice day to drive the 4C in the canyons.
Hey Racer, is Ruby's still on the pier at Malibu? I have a fond memory of it last time my family and I were in the area. A burger and milkshake joint my kids still talk about going back to.

Raced on a Runway with GT4, F430, etc... Then took the long way back home to get this shot ...

What a beautiful shot, Hovik. Where abouts was it taken? Sorry, I'm on the other side of the world but need ideas for places to drive when on holidays.
