Went to my first ever Cars and Coffee today. The only other Alfa I saw was Alfa 156t... lots of lambos/mclarens/porsches/corvettes/mustangs; some Ferraris, Lotuses (Loti?). Saw a Carrera RS, Noble, original NSX and what looked like a homemade exoskeleton pickup-like thingy. Lots of stickers and instagram links. Pretty interesting experience; will definitely do it again.

Took the white one to Maine for lobster where I parked next to a couple sweet older Moto Guzzi bikes (one pretty old, one medium old). When I left the two Moto Guzzi gentlemen were discussing my car in Italian. Unfortunately I speak very little Italian (shameful, I know) and was only able to get the gist of it.

Also this morning I bought the remaining two spider roof bags available on the internet. Not sure why I needed two but I needed one and “two left in stock” was enough for me to rationalize a second.

As mentioned elsewhere, I did my first wheel-change at home using my Quickjack. Spent more time cleaning suspension arms, removing pebbles from the upper sides of various front and rear trays and poking pad material out of the disc drill holes than I did changing the wheels. The Quickjack makes it all so much easier and things become, almost instantly, a whole lot more accessible. .....I should have done this years ago.

Before I forget, just a couple of things for Aussies who buy a Quickjack from Costco; it doesn’t come with an electric power plug. You have to buy and fit your own. In spite of what the instructions read, the hydraulic fluid bleed screw is not 5mm, it’s 4.5mm and do you think any of my Allen Key sets had a 4.5mm key? I now have another small Allen key set. To bleed I held the stands vertically. Other than that it was all straight forward. Also, ice hockey pucks are far better than the rubber blocks provided...buy 8. I used a length of dowel rod (1cm dia) for correct alignment of the jack stands. It can be pushed though the end tubes of the Jack stands to ensure the stands run parallel. Cheers.

Just got home having left early to collect my car from alfaworkshop, 2.5 hrs each way, their loan car was an old 03 plate 159. Pleased to get my 4C back lol. £1800 well spent.
In their shop this morning was a white one and a black one, white one having a hybrid turbo fitted, the black one looks great until you see the back

It's done 120k miles, he lives down a quarry or something and was well used, good for him though, full engine rebuild

I had 60,000 mile cam belt service, water pump, alternator belt and tensioner (idler), re gas air con, front geometry

Whilst at alfaworkshop I got talking to the chap who took my 'hard earned' cash , I wish they would wear badges, I never caught his name, but he was a bit older than the others, hoping someone can help me there.

He was so helpful and showed me around a bit and we got talking best bang for buck mods/ improvement. He said geo and the 280 upgrade your money is good. He said the car gets much more low end torque, basically if your at the lights with a Ferrari you will leave him standing and whilst he's trying to snatch second gear you'll be gone . Sounds a nice idea, it's not like you modified the car or anything, no one would ever know it's been done. A simple and safe option.

I also saw another black 4C with 400 bhp 2 litre engine. But then you're looking at changing lots of other things and ££££

Went out THREE times today to start cleaning up garage, ended up distracted, stared and went back inside for another espresso. I KNEW if I moved them out I was going to go on a three hour around-the-block ride!

A three hour "around-the-block" ride is good vehicle practice. Taking a short trip of a couple of miles is not good for the car.....one should always fully warm up the engine and trans and drive the car as God intended. That is a good excuse AFAIK for an extended three hour drive ;)

Went by my shop to check out how my ceramic coating came out on my 4C and talking to my detail guy about correcting a flaw in my PPF.
Talked with one of the mechanics who is ready to drop the rebuild 3929cc V12 back in the Miura, the engine and carbs are heavy duty car porn, and then I was admiring the 4C's older sister ,the 246 Dino across from the Miura, it was a nice day.
