Who has done a downpipe?

I have my novitek downpipe. Wondering on install time and the difficulty level? Hope to get some feed back thanks dudes!

This will be paired with my EC v2 intake and full straight pipe exhaust with the EC. Stage 2 tune!

Shout out to Eurocompulsion for being awesome and helping me out with this new build!

I'm a little surprised no1 responded to this yet. Have you installed it yet? I have been looking for a high flow cat option, but the best I can find is a company in Italy for $1,800 which is insane. I was also considering going catless, but I don't want to be "too" loud. its fairly noisy with the MF corsa exhaust. I don't know how much more a catless downpipe would add as I've never explored this option before
. Let us know how it goes please!
I have a custom downpipe and install took very little time. If you think your exhaust is loud now then the catless will bring up a notch. The tradeoff is the performance gained from being catless for turbo motor. You will gain in the mid and high rpm.

Did you install this yourself? How was it trying to access the downpipe near the turbo? I didn't pay any attention to the downpipe when I did my exhaust.

Local fabricator did the install and the build. Access wasn't an issue.

I just ordered the Novitec downpipe yesterday. How did your install go? Looks like I need to ship my Phase 2 off to Eurocompulsion to tune out the CEL.

Please keep us informed how all this goes, both initially and down the track. I'm sure many are interested.

My 4C with Novitec DP n Corsa exhaust
How much lowder compared to the stock race exhaust ?
How bearable is when cruising with around 90-100 mph on highway?

Thank you,
Nothing that a good pair of earplugs can’t fix. It works with the motorbike.

Thank you,
It’s pretty loud at wide open throttle and much louder than the stock race exhaust. I’ll post some more videos so check it out in my YouTube channel
Looks like mine isnt shipping until tmrw. However, I can say that Phase 2 with the Corsa is rather loud. Can't talk during accelerating. 6th gear over 70mph is so/so for conversations! Then again I didn't buy / mod my car to socialize and go on trips.

Looks like it should arrive Monday. I plan to do this myself as the shops here in Del Rio haven't seen a car newer than 1980 and San Antonio is a solid 2hr 45min trip each way.

Does anyone have any installations recommendations / suggestions? Sounds like access isn't an issue but I saw one forum member say it took him and a friend 12 hours!?
Anyone have tips for removing the downpipe v-band clamp? Everything down wind of the turbo has plenty of room to work with, I just can't get to the v-band clamp. Maybe I'm missing something..

I just did mine today. Indeed that is the hardest part. We removed the exhaust manifold intake & Air intake from the top side which gave access to the black shroud that is sorta in the way. For whatever reason, the V-band bolt and nut are on the top side. Putting the catless downpipe in is cake and there is much more room to work with. Re-install the V-band at the bottom for easy access to the bolt. 10mm I believe.

Took us 4.5 hours with a quick lunch break + had to run to home depot because my buddy snapped the V-band bolt w/ his impact lol!

Sorta crappy because it only took us about 40min to get underneath, remove the lower intercooler hose, midpipe, and tail pipe. The engine was too hot surprisingly. The downpipe / turbo were fine to touch. The remainder of the time was indeed trying to figure out where the hell the v-band bolt was and accessing it!

Easter egg. Buddy blew up his red supra. hit 50lbs of boost and blew oil all over the wheel and tossed him in a ditch lol. Obviously did not intend for it to go past 26 I believe. FOrget what happened.

Downpipe install:

Wasn't too happy with the quality from Novitec. Had carbon build up all around and look like it was used? Whatever tho, I just had to scrub w/ a brush.

You can see my modded MF Corsa exhaust on the right to fit out my Akrapovic Shroud hehe

How the hell...

I see the bolt at the top! Can you see it!?

Such a retarded design...

Oddly enough, that black cooling shroud is the only thing holding me back right now. There is a hardline (guessing AC?) that is routed in a manner that covers the top of the cooling shroud preventing me from pulling it off.

Once that's out of the way, I don't see the rest of this job taking more than an hour including reassembly.

Yeah its home stretch from there! I don't recall anything in the way of the shroud. Just the 2 air intake hoses I thought? Pics?
