Start with the 1/N/R/A/M selector panel.

Pop out window/side mirror switch panel from underside from now removed selector panel. Disconnect harness.

Locate the 4 10mm mounting posts with nuts. Carefully lift up that console piece and turn over to be able to access and disengage the Hazard and DNA selector harnesses. There is a guide pin at the rear of that console piece that seats and aligns that front piece with the rear piece.

Undo and detach ebrake boot

I just removed my center console for a little project and at one point I turned on the car to roll down the windows. Because the 1RND selector was disconnected, the car threw an error.

After buttoning everything back up, I attempted to start the car and nothing happened. But there was a check engine light. I read the codes with my OBD-II reader and found 8 codes all related to the transmission (e.g. P1857). I cleared the codes and tried starting the car again. Still no dice. Then I disconnected the battery for a couple minutes and, after reconnecting it, tried starting the car again. Still nothing.

The codes haven’t returned, but the check engine light is still on and I can’t get my car to attempt to start. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I could do? Did anyone else have this issue when you removed your center console?

Could be that your 1/N/R/A/M harness or DNA selector switch harness are not seated completely.

Good news! I got it running. Thank you very much, Docron, for your suggestion.
I disconnected and firmly reconnected the 1RNM switch (strange that it could have potentially been unseated given the cam lock mechanism, which was fully engaged). I also stubbornly held the key to the start position for what felt like an eternity (mostly out of frustration lol). She finally turned over and started up!

Just used this to install a Lars center console and it was very helpful. I would add a couple useful tips:

1) The hazard button (not the housing) can actually pop out just by pressing two springy tabs on bottom sides of the button. This makes it WAY easier to remove the wiring harness from this button.

2) The lower right nut in the front part of the console is extremely difficult to remove unless you pop out the DNA selector first. There are 4 metal tabs that you can push in and it pops out easily. This also makes it easier to remove the harness.

Once I figured those two things out, this was actually a pretty straightforward process. Thanks for the guide.

There is a way to get it out. I believe it has clips that can be pushed in from the inside and outlet but honestly don't remember. Someone posted how to do it and it might be in this thread. I believe a replacement part is only $40 so if you give up or destroy it getting it out just replace. Part # should be on this.

It's 2 pieces. You have to slide the inner piece out of the top in order to release the two clips that hold the black piece in place. A single clip keeps this from happening and shown below. I don't know if it can be done without removing the console. Mine was out so easy to access from underneath.

then once the socket is out you will be able to access to 2 clips for the trim and lid.......
