Greetings fellow Alfisti! The other morning after cold start, I flipped the DNA to "A" as there was fog and the roads were wet. It did not change modes, so I attempted "D." The LED remained in the center and was white. The next time I drove it a message appeared on the display informing me of a DNA failure followed by a CEL that has remained each time I've started it since. I have not attempted to change mode again. I did not finds any threads in the forum about a similar problem. I hope it is a weak battery, corroded terminals, or an electrical connection as often occurs with the transmission switches. DIY troubleshooting starts Friday. If it is none of the above, it would have to be a wheel sensor or ECU issue, correct?

This is what is known as "limp mode" - it could be as simple as a bad battery or corroded battery terminal causing a random code.
Might be an emission system error.
Could be more serious, but I'm betting not.
If you can go to manual transmission mode, it likely is not very serious.
Can you read the code?
Many codes will clear CEL from active memory after 3 starts or disconnecting the battery briefly (there is a thumb-twist quick disconnect on the negative terminal - no tools required but a strong finger helps).
Is the car on a battery tender regularly? How often is it driven? if you pull the negative, is there any visible corrosion?
Might be an emission system error.
