Future Investment?

I don't drive my Alfa 4c much, so I wanted to get opinions and ask if the 4c will go up in value.

The short answer is yes. Buy two (one a Tributo/final edition). Wrap the Tribby in cotton wool and the other to drive to your hearts’ content. I can’t justify owning two so mine gets driven. I’ve not too many years left and I want to have fun in my remaining time. I’ve other investments to keep me liquid.

The thing is it has no racing heritage, nor an exotic engine but the carbon tub makes it unique in its class. Too many were produced to make it truly rare, but if you have fifty years to wait…
I don’t and care not what its monetary value is. To me it’s value is in how it’s made me feel about driving…from jaded soul to resurrected enthusiast…It’s the automotive fountain of youth.

You want an investment? At a paltry 4%, most money market funds will return 1.48x in 10 years compounded.
Assuming an 7% annual average stock market return the ten year compounded return is 1.97, or double your money.

You want value for money? Drive your car. Its likely the best value in the world. Girls at the gym gush over my $57k (what I paid) 4C far more than my $95k Cayman.

I’m considering picking up either a 991.1 4S or a 992.1 4S as a daily, given the brutal winters that come with living this close to the Alps. My current daily is a Tesla Model 3 Performance, which honestly feels a bit like driving a high-speed washing machine.
That said, I keep wondering whether a 911 is actually practical enough for daily use.
  1. I already own a few two-seaters, so I can live with limited space. Still, for a daily, I’d like at least the option to take a couple of friends along. The 911 technically has two extra seats, but let’s be real — no adult can actually fit back there.
  2. The frunk isn’t exactly generous either — not much bigger than the one in my 4C. Sure, the space behind the front seats can serve as extra storage, but it’s awkward to reach and not exactly ideal for larger items.
I love the idea of dailying a 911 — it feels like a bit of a “forever car.” And high-mileage 911s are definitely a thing. But I can’t help wondering: what if it just ends up sleeping next to the 4C in the garage because it’s too impractical?

Invest in your life experience. You only have 1 chance to do it right. One day, if you'll get that far, you'll be lying in the bed shitted and pissed and you'll realize that the investments don't matter anymore and you'll be out of time to rewrite the history and give it another try. If you don't enjoy the 4C now, sell it and get something else that you will enjoy and give 4C to someone else who will put it into good use.

As an investment, I think land and premises are much better and safe bet than cars.

@GMS. Sage advice. I trained to do "L" pullups (your legs are bent 90 degrees at the waist). I'm very close to perfection on performing them. I cast about looking for new challenges, having just completed the Alta Via 4 (via ferrata) in the Dolomites.
Two weeks ago I thought I needed a muse. A passing fancy especially since my wife wouldn't take kindly to it. Truly first world problems- but why waste the situation you are in? I get mad at myself for squandering the day and not finding a new exciting direction.

Might I toss out the suggestion of the CT5 Blackwing, it has become my all time favorite daily driver. Amazing car, can be spec'd to be very understated in appearance. Reliability record is pretty good, and I find I am putting 5 times the miles on my Blackwing than I do my 911, it is simply more fun, more practical, and much more unhinged than my 992. Oh, wait, my bad, the ROW doesn't get these supercharged V-8 monsters. Sorry. But for the OP, it is a nice contrarian pairing with the 4C, put the miles on the caddy, then enjoy the 4C that much more for special drives, as it's quite different than the blackwing.

We do.
And I was on track with someone who has one of these, and a Camaro. He brought the Caddy because he blew the engine in the track car. The Blackwing was within a second (on street tires) of the Camaro on 200TW rubber!
