Just purchased a 2017 4C with 4.3k miles on it. Already put 1k miles on it…love it.

It’s completely stock and I have a track day set up in a few months. My first time on a Track (I will have a co-pilot).

do I need to upgrade tires and all the jazz (they have the stock tires but the previous owner purchased a new set a year ago so they are new). I’m not going to push it much in the track but excited to let it stretch its legs a bit.

I might take it a few times a year on a track so not sure if upgrading it when I am not really going to push it.

it’s an amazing car. I saw it on Top Gear 10 years ago and knew right then and there if I ever bought a two seater this would be the car.

glad I pulled the trigger now!

If you have the P-Zeros fitted, when you are half way through your track day, you might find yourself wishing you had bought a set of Michelins or Contis, especially if it’s a very hot day. Otherwise it’s perfectly capable and fun on the track as is. Have you driven it enthusiastically on your favourite backroads to know if the wheel alignment is about right? Have you relatively new oil and brake fluid?

Make sure the tires are in good condition.
Be certain that you have plenty of brake pad material remaining.
Flush the brake fluid and replace it with a Motul track fluid.
These things are simple insurance.

If this is your first track outing, you will be so busy learning the lines and braking points that you will never come close to the limits of brakes or tires.

The 4C is a blast to drive on track, so devour every minute of it. And stop when you are tired (it is very demanding, physically and mentally, so expect to make it an early day). Watch other people (good drivers) and maybe get a chance to go out with them. Is your co-pilot an experienced track driver and / or instructor? There is so much to learn about driving fast (even if you have been driving for 5 decades or have sim racing experience). But it is important to get a good start, before you pick up bad habits.

There are some good threads stuck to the top of the 4C Motorsports section of this forum, to give you an idea of what to take, how to prepare, and some advice for novices.

Good luck, and enjoy!!!
