I plan on getting the EC Phase 3 upgrade. From my research Eurocompulsions
Intercooler is significantly more expensive than other after market upgraded intercoolers.

Anyone on phase 3 with a different upgraded intercooler? Not sure why EC is so expensive compared to others?

Eurocompulsion sells out of every batch of intercoolers they have made.

Can someone advise what this does practically? I get that it would reduce losses due to heatsoak ie. timing being pulled if overheated, but if for example it’s cold weather and the car is just tooling along, for a single WOT run would it actually result in significant benefit?

For tracking a bigger intercooler does a little as for tuning.
On my last Opel Speedster i installed a watercooled charge kit for maintaining full power

extra radiator mounted under the existing one and a full pump driven watercooled circuit to cool the intake temperatures..
It's a lot of work and e few extra pound more but you can race all day long....

Do'nt know if it's hard to develop a kit like this for the 4c??

Well it sounds like it would be useful for continuous high power demand (track) and where power has been increased from other mods, since power increases heat? I suppose that once heatsoaked you may as well be stock as the timing will be pulled anyway.

Intercoolers on small engines need to be a size that aren't to big and flow well.Scara's is perfect, the piping coming out of the exit end is probably close to 8" shorter than stock which always helps, and with his tune it gets up very quick from low down. Water spraying with fine spray definitely works in keeping temps down, have done it before on my jet105 for tracking.👍👍
