We‘ll give him a moment to respond before flushing him.

But there has to be due diligence on the part of anyone wanting to do business with an unknown entity.

Your moderators cannot tell a newbie’s intentions beyond paying attention to the first few posts and challenging those who we feel are suspect. The forum gives us a good indication for new members who have been banned from other boards for spam or are on black lists. But it doesn’t take much to get around those.

Claz2 has been using VPN and proxy servers, so I cannot even tell from where in the world he hails.

Caveat emptor!

Looks like he is back as Roy32 just scammed me out of $1200 bummer was to start on this forum, but shame on me ultimately. as soon as I made a deal for a engine cover I started getting texts asking me if I was looking for parts that I had posted interest in in other classified threads only way jabzzz770@gmail.com could have know my phone number was if he was same person as Roy32.

very sorry to hear this.
I have banned the member in question (he was questionable at best, up to now).
But yeah, you have to be careful. We (moderators) really have no way of knowing for certain what the intent of any new member really is.
The bots are easy enough to identify, and we are clearing literally dozens of those every week. But when there is a real person on the keyboard it becomes more difficult. Especially since this is a global forum and English is not always their first language. We try to give the benefit of the doubt to potential new 4C enthusiasts until we are sure that they do not belong.

If you google jabzzz770@gmail.com you get a bunch of hits on different forums complaining about it being a scammer. So annoying! Lesson is you really can’t trust an anonymous person on the other end of the internet. You need to coordinate the sale thru a 3rd party like eBay where you have protection and recourse, or meet the person. Or if you can swing it, not pay until you have the item in hand. Underscores how helpful the meet ups and other events can be - at least you can see real people behind the screen names if you should ever trade or barter. You can also get some comfort from the constant responsible presence of certain real vendors on these sites, running real businesses.

Sorry to see anyone being scammed . It's a fair lump too sadly. Never part easily with your hard earned. Always do a few tests, ask for photos of the item with today's newspaper or a laptop open on 4C forums. Or ask for a video , easy to do on WhatsApp or something. Or stick to long established members.

Also I'm fed up with newbies who post weird threads, who are vague, we give them some slack but probably we need to ban them sooner than later, that Roy32 started a thread (about buying a car for his dad) and it attracted lots of weirdos who were all banned, red flag there, attracting more scammer weirdos.
