Well, given that our cars are substanially heavier than yours, it may well be that the shifting software is different.
That could also go some distance in explaining the difference in 0-60 / 0-100 times.
Never really considered it up until now.
In also remember that I have read something about automatic upshifts in manual mode for the dynamic and race program? For my EU cars it is:

All weather: automatic
Neutral: automatic
Dynamic: manual
Race: manual (exept for the launch control, then it shifts automatic)

And I just got a phone call from the dealer and they can't find the problem so far. They keep investigating, and hope to give me a call in the next few days with some results.

Well the dealer gave me a call. I seems to be a problem in the hydraulic magnetic valve. They replaced them and are going to test the car. I hope this will fix the problem. All other parts, computer, wiring, etc. was all good.

Good luck. Lets hope this solves the issue and you get your car back :smile2:

Getting in on this thread I start by saying that we are lucky that ours is an enthusiasts-driven brand. Much of the knowledge needed to get issues sorted on my 4C (and my GTA clone) came not from official manuals and dealers but from feedback on our forums.
I suggest that writers indicate both model (LE vs SE) and year to filter out affected cars.
Mine is a 2016 SE and kept throwing TCT errors but only when battery went flat. Haven't seen it again since it went out of the shop and driven more regularly... I would think that Alfa may have done 'something' to correct software in 2016 (???).

Dealer gave me a call. Problem is fixed! Next week I pick here up. They now gonna replace the blower of the heater. It rattles.

Have this problem since yesterday. Only odd gears work.
Is there a clear solution to this now?
Battery pole? Software? Hydraulic magnetic valve?
Surely it’s thrown a code or two? Gear actuator failure? Take it in to service and let us know what they diagnose is the problem. How many km/miles has your 4C done?

Truth being told: I’ve been running a race ecu for a week.
Searching what obd2-scanner to buy.
Hoping to clear the engine Error code, as gears now work, but light keeps on.

Put the stock ECU back in and take it to the dealer. I'm assuming it's still in warranty.

I have good luck with my Foxwell scanner. If I had a dollar for every time I cleared a code on my 4C..... well I’d have a lotta money. But I had a defective motor from the beginning and had to clear codes from the first week I bought it for over a year. With my new motor no codes at but I still carry it with me.
Also carry one in my Giulia QV just cleared a code yesterday (see photo) on it. No idea why it showed up but I cleared it and now it’s fine. Sadly this happens on Alfas too much. But it’s so quick to clear the codes it’s not really big deal. If you really have a problem it won’t clear the code or the code will keep coming back and then you have to take it to the dealer but I’ve saved myself so many trips to the dealer that if I had a dollar for every time I saved myself a trip to the dealer.... well you get the idea.
Here’s the Foxwell (about $150) one I bought for my 4C I think it clears more codes than others. Here’s a physically smaller and cheaper one the Autel I carry in the glove box of my Giulia QV. That Autel one will also work for the 4C too I just think the Foxwell one iclears more codes and I stick it underneath the passenger seat in its case.

Thanks for all the advice, guys!

Out of warranty :crying:. Already had a dead turbo, alternator and aircon since...
Now she drives in all gears again. Only the engine warning goesn't go out and she's stuck in Normal mode.

Does anybody have experience with ODBLink MX Wifi. Connects to your iPhone.
Can it read, and most of all clear the same codes as a Foxwell or similar?

The way I understand it with Alfa is the type of inexpensive code checkers that I listed is all there is available. You can do the Bluetooth ones but it’s pretty much the same thing. And the Bluetooth ones might not clear as many codes as the Foxwell but I’m not sure of that.
There is really only one code checker that works on every code and that is the one the dealership uses. It cost about $1500 maybe a bit more and there’s a high monthly subscription fee. Although there is a three day use for $50. And you have to have it hooked up to the Internet although you can use your mobile phone as a Wi-Fi hotspot.
In my opinion It’s nice to have a standalone code checker and not have to depend on your phone.
Maybe you know someone that has a generic code checker and you can hook up your car and see if it works clear that code you have.

I am interested in the OBDLink as it has a faster chip than the ELM327.
You can leave it in place and take info from it while driving (track days e.g.).
Ideally it could via TMPS give actual tire pressure, instead of the simple 'OK' we get, but I do not know whether it can.

It's the same price range. Would be good to know whether you pay for the gadget part, or does it do the same (or even more) than a simple standalone.
$1500 is a bit to much for an amature ;-).

And then there's the part that I think Jamie told me an OBD doesn't work together with the race ecu

HAve a basic ELM327 on it's way. Will see if we can get the car out of limb mode with that.
And otherwise, it's of to the dealer...

i have a cheap ELM and OBDLink and Ultragauge reader - all of them don't work good with 4c.
most of the parameters are not displayed continuously - they're out for a minute and displayed correctly for a few seconds and then out again.
Ultragauge engineer replied to me that this is usually happens when ECU and gear control unit speak on CAN at the same time which confuses OBD readers.

Good to know. I'll go for a basic but good standalone scanner.

Gearbox works fine, but 'check engine light' keeps on.
Thanks guys! I'll keep you posted.
